Introduction

Faculty of Education ( FoE) is the largest faculty of Tribhuvan University in terms of the number of students and the number of campuses which are ever increasing. With its  26 constituent campuses and 560 affiliated colleges throughout the country,it has the biggest network of teacher education. Through its different programmes viz One-Year B.Ed,Three-Year B.Ed and Two Year M.Ed,M.Phil.and Ph.D.,FoE produces high level human resources as teachers,teacher educators/trainers, educational planners and managers, educational reseachers curriculum designer and all sorts of human resources needed for the educational sector of the country.In order to develop, revise and review the academic courses from time to time, there are 15 different Subject Committees under FoE.


FoE also plans,develops and implements new courses and new pogrammes by mobilizing its internal financial resources as well as with the help of national and international collaborations. One such new progrmme is M.Ed.Through ODL mode which is being helped by the National Centre for Educational Development (NCED),and JMAK University of Applied Science, Finland and HMAK University of Applied Science,Finland.The ToT to  implement the programme has been recently conducted in Sanothimi Campus, Sanothimi and Surkhet Campus, Surkhet .


Some other new courses which were introduced recently in Sanothimi and Gorkha campuses are M.Ed in Physics and M.Ed. in Biology Education, and M.Ed.in ICTE. These are demand driven and need base job oriented courses as they were demanded by the students because they have high demand in the market.


Recently,FoE has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the St.Paul II Catholic University, Lublin, Poland to work Jointly for the visually and  acoustically impaired students. This will be a programme which will help thousands of visually and acoustically impaired pupils in the country.They are soon going to workout the details about their collaborative venture.
